Sorry but it’s most likely the other way around. Sources in the cellular industry are reporting that churn rates at companies OTHER than AT&T are as much as triple what they were before the iPhone launch.

Thank god for the iPhone. I’m in the middle if my fourth hour if commute through a typical Boston snow storm. I’ve posted here, combed over Digg no less than 64 times and am almost done reading the Mitchel Report (yay for nice PDF support)
Gotta give them props for bravado.
Made me laugh.
Best laugh I’ve had in a while. I have to think they did this as much for their own amusement as anything. When you can’t ignore the elephant in the room that is sitting on your head you might as well crack a joke about it, however muffled it may sound.
That churn rate statistic really interesting. Where are you finding that data? I’d love to talk about it on my website as well.
Dave I have sources at all the big cellular companies but I can’t name them since it could cost them their jobs. There are organizations that track and publish this data and it’s available for a fee.
It’s also commonly available through the right Google search or simply by monitoring news stories such as this one.
Just for kicks, I recently asked a kid working the Verizion booth at the mall if they sold the iPhone. His reaction was great. He looked like he had just been kicked in the groin for the thousanded time. His face lacked any bit of confidence as he pointed to Verizion’s “iPhone killer.” He then sadly admitted that the iPhone was only available at AT&T and Apple. I asked if there was an Apple store in the mall (I knew the answer). He pointed in the general direction of the greatest computer store in the world, and I started to walk. I laughfed all the way down the mall. I left these turkeys for the iPhone on June 29t. Eat your heart out Verizion. Perhaps you will listen next time Steve Jobs comes calling!
