Sources at AT&T confirmed for me yesterday that the new iPhone 1.13 update removes the iPhone’s 1000 message limit for text message storage. (Web star iJustines probably gets that many an hour so we know she’s happy.)
The new limit is in the “tens of thousands” according to our source.

1.1.3 is almost compelling enough to give up the jailbreak and re-join the fold…
But, man, still no MMS and still no cut and paste?
With or without, the overall device is still the slickest little gadget I’ve ever owned. Nothing I’ve laid hands on or read about comes close, yet.
It seems to me that cut and paste is more of an OS modification. If you take a look at all of the updates thus far, they are mostly modifications to specific applications. I would suggest that modifying the OS is a bit more difficult and would require substantially more testing.
For example, lifting the 1K SMS message cap won’t effect your email client. However, adding copy/cut and paste will effect all of them. Each application would have to be modified to only accept certain and correct text types. I can see how it would be daunting.
Then again it could also be on the list of reasons Apple’s working on to get everyone to upgrade to the 3G phone.
