We all have our sources. And I don’t know any blogger, podcaster or reporter covering the iPhone who will divulge their sources. I won’t either.
Sometimes sources are good; sometimes bad.
You can chalk what I’m about to say up to rumor or fact - it’s up to you. But 90% of it comes from trusted sources who have given me good information before.
Now maybe they believe what they are saying is true. And still they could be wrong. In the past, they’ve been right more often than not.
So here’s my iPhone 2.0 prediction…
The phone will be announced at WWDC in June. It won’t ship until later in the quarter. It will of course be 3G. It will be thicker than the previous version (All of you who said that a 3G chip set wouldn’t make the phone bigger were clearly off the mark on this.) and it will NOT be black. Most pundits are predicting a black iPhone, i.e., a black back on the phone rather than silver.
The phone will NOT have a GPS inside, but rather, will be configured to work with third party GPS devices attached to the phone through the docking port. There will be no 8-gig model. I have no other information, but I assume that means a 16-gig model only or perhaps we finally get the 32-gig phone.
The US price will be the same as the original iPhone.
You will not be able to replace the battery. Battery life will be about the same as the previous version. Given the addition of the 3G chipset, that is an accomplishment.
That’s it. That’s the end of my predictions because it’s the end of the information I have. How accurate will it be? We’ll find out soon enough.

I spent last week in Las Vegas at the National Association of Broadcasters conference. More than 130,000 people from all over the world were there. And one of the things that I noticed at the show was people are STILL gaga over the iPhone, particularly from countries where there is no iPhone.
Whenever I was on my phone, texting, checking e-mail or taking a snapshot of something on the show floor - someone(s) would approach me and ask if that was an iPhone I was using. The people from Asia seemed particularly intrigued. Eventually I had to stop using my phone out in the open because it was getting in the way. I was getting slowed down by strangers wanting to see the phone!
Despite the fact that many now take the iPhone for granted - there is a large segment of the world population anxiously awaiting their chance.

For those Apple Phone Show readers and listeners who doubted my assertion that the Canadian iPhone delay was related to trademark issues - here is another source that you can check.

Gartner group is reporting that Apple has ordered as many as 10 million 3G iPhones. This in addition to its existing stock.
And rumors are circulating from around the Web that many of the larger Apple stores are completely out of iPhone stock. Is it coincidence? Most certainly - but it sure makes for great speculation.

I recently bought a new car. It was actually a pretty nice experience, but in the end, it always comes down to the negotiation.
The salesman did his job, which was to try to convince me that I should pay more for the car. I did my job which was to pay as little as I could.
The transaction involved a lease. Leases can be complicated. There are residuals, money factors and all sorts of other calculations necessary to figure out what you’re really paying. Not just what you’re paying, but what you’re paying for.
For instance, fancy terms like lease acquisition fee (profit for the bank) and capital cost reduction (down payment) can attach to hard-to-decipher numbers.
