Even marketing guru Seth Godin is getting in on the iPhone chatter and predicts two million units in 2007 and “more” in 2008.
I think Seth is on track and predict that the “more” in 2008 will be an additional 10 million phones.
The thing to do here is look at the run up of the iPod. The iPhone is a similar product. Apple is similarly positioning it as an anchor for its business. Expect similar interest with one slight twist. Cell phones are far more popular than MP3 players. When you pair the two as effectively as we expect Apple to do with the iPhone, it makes these huge sales numbers not only possible, but probable.

Macworld reports that AT&T/Cingular plans to target iPhone enterprise.
Despite the fact that the iPhone/Apple haters have already decided the iPhone won’t be any use to business, AT&T will indeed target the iPhone at business users.
AT&T is now working hard to ensure that its backend enterprise billing and support systems will accommodate the device when it ships.

Several readers were kind enough to send me links to this story posted on Yahoo News. It essentially says the phone will be on time and includes a quote from AT&T COO R. Stephenson that says, “Our expectations are good. Our testing has been good. The iPhone is on target to launch in June.”
There are still plenty of iPhone/Apple haters out there predicting the phone will be late. Anything is possible, but I suspect that Apple would not like to announce that both its major upcoming products are shipping late.

When I first saw the Apple TV in action, I immediately wondered if the iPhone could be modified to act as a controller for it and/or other Apple devices.
It looks like I am not the only person wondering about that. There are some plans (probably fakes, but who knows?) popping up on other blogs suggesting that Apple is considering just the scenario I wondered about. The iPhone as a controller for the Apple TV makes sense. I hope it happens.
