Connect your iPhone to your computer, open iTunes and then check for update.
UPDATE ABOUT THE UPDATE: The first thing I noticed that’s different is the weather icon is updated to reflect the actual temperature and conditions.
UPDATE 2 - Okay so it was a complete coincidence that it was sunny and 73 degrees
Sorry for the false alarm.
UPDATE 3 - We’ve received a dozen reports that the update breaks existing hacks like third-party ring tones.

Apple Phone Show listener/reader sent us a cautionary tale about international data use on the iPhone
Dave purchased an iPhone on opening day to use in lieu of a cumbersome laptop while traveling in Ireland and England for two weeks in early July. For per-use international roaming data, the AT&T rep quoted him $.005 /KB.(Turns out the rate is actually .005 DOLLARS!)

You don’t realize how tightly integrated the apps on the iPhone are until you find yourself just “doing” things. For example, last week my car died. While waiting for the tow truck to come get the car, I was playing around with my iPhone and I realized just how nicely tied together the applications actually are.

Have you heard of push email and wondered how it applies to your iPhone? Here’s the answer.
There are essentially two delivery methods for email on your iPhone. One delivery method is known as POP (Post Office Protocol). This method pulls emails from your Internet Service Provider’s (ISP) mail server at selected time intervals, and delivers them to your iPhone. Generally, you have the option to store them locally on your PC and either “leave messages on the server” or “delete them from the server”. Depending on your ISP, you may also access POP email from the web.

This made me wonder - is the iPhone a special case? Do security concerns impact only iPhone owners?
I’ve spent some time in the last week talking to security experts, engineers and hackers. I’ve also read through press accounts of the iPhone “security flaw” and found a few important points that I’d like folks to consider.

One cool feature of the iPhone is the ability to set your own full screen wallpaper image.
As a thank you to the Apple Phone Show community, every week, I’ll be posting free wallpaper images you can use on your iPhone. I made all of these photos while pursuing my other passion - photography.
The third batch is a new theme - southwest - we’ll get back to wolves in a few weeks. All images have been optimized for iPhone viewing, meaning they are two inches wide by three inches high at 160PPI.
Just click on the images to see them at size and next, right click *or control click if you don’t have a two-button mouse* to download and enjoy.
NOTE: If you want to know how to put custom wallpaper on your iPhone, here’s how.
