According to an article by Crayton Harrison of Bloomberg, AT&T CEO Randall Stephenson has admitted a 3G iPhone is coming in 08.
There’s no information on exact shipping dates, features or prices. Calls to Apple and AT&T requesting more information went un-returned.
This confirms rumors we’ve been hearing from the AT&T sources we have that a 3G phone is coming soon.
My guess is that this was not something Apple’s Steve Jobs wanted to have the world know right now. Some folks might put off buying a 2G phone.
Of course if you don’t live in an area AT&T serves with 3G it won’t matter.

Duane Reaugh sent in this week’s tip.
The ear phones that come with the iPhone will work in a MacBook for listening and talking. I was out of town and needed to attend a webinar. Since the webinar was going to be an hour, I did not want to waste my iPhone minutes so I used MacBook, Skype and my iPhone ear phones for the audio portion. To my surprise, I could also talk with
the built in microphone.
I never saw that in any on the books. I have not tried this on a MacBook Pro and my MacBook was purchased in the last 6 months but certainly before the iPhone was launched.

Now here’s a switch - instead of bricking the phone, iTunes will actually unlock it - if the customer who owns it has paid the premium for an unlocked phone.
According to several reports, confirmed by Apple Phone Show, the process goes something like this…
iPhone’s IMEI number is sent to Apple by the reseller.
Approximately one day later, syncing the iPhone with iTunes automatically unlocks it.
