WOW! What a year! You showed amazing support for our blog and podcast in 2007.

BLOG:

Keeping in mind that these blog stats don’t even represent a full year (we launched the blog on January 23, 2007), it’s pretty amazing.

These numbers are approximate - but very close…

1. Unique visitors - 400,000
2. Page views - 6,450,000
3. 400 GB bandwidth
4. 1.2 million visits

Not bad for a blog that spent six months covering a phone that didn’t even exist yet.

Our blog had some other milestones. We spent a bunch of time in the Technorati 10,000. We won several awards. We put up almost 600 posts generating approximately 4000 comments.

PODCAST:

We launched the podcast May 16, 2007 - once again before the iPhone was even launched. Our podcast has spent a great deal of time in the iTunes top 100 tech shows. We even spent some time in the overall top 100 podcasts and led most of the year in the iTunes Gadgets category.

Moreover, we had a big audience. Since May, we’ve delivered more than 850,000 downloads.

We’ve also received some national press attention with mentions in Bloomberg, Forbes, the Wall Street Journal and other prestigious mainstream media outlets.

While our podcast and blog aren’t right for everyone, clearly, the majority of our target audience has found us, and likes what they see and hear. We’re glad you like our work, and we plan to work harder for you in 2008.

Thanks for your support.

It may look easy, but it’s not. The Apple Phone Show requires a lot of hard work by a bunch of talented people.

I’d like to take this time to thank a few of those involved in our success during 2007.

First, I’d like to thank my regular co-hosts; Andy Ihnatko and Chris Breen. They’re the best in the business. They make my job much easier and are both fan favorites. I am grateful for their help and friendship. These guys are legends in Mac journalism.

Next, I’d like to thank long-time Apple Phone Show producer Vinny Ferrari. Vinny’s leaving us for bigger and better things. His show notes always added to our podcast in ways that our audience really appreciated. His blog posts were always spot on. And best of all, when a troll, hater or a whiner came knocking on our door, Vinny in his New York style was always quick to put them in their place. We’ll miss his contributions to the Apple Phone Show.

I’d also be remiss if I didn’t thank our other Apple Phone Show podcast and blog contributors. Liana Lehua is also an APS producer, blogger and regular guest on the podcast. She’s very talented and we like having her perspective. She continues to make the show and the blog better and better.

Thanks must also go to Greg Martin from Podango Productions. Greg is our engineer and has really come along to help support the show.

Staci DeGagne - also a Podango Productions employee has helped out from time-to-time and we look forward to more from her.

Thanks also to my partners Lee Gibbons and Doug Smith at Podango. Their belief in me and this project made a big difference. When we first started talking about doing a blog/podcast devoted 100% to the iPhone, everyone thought we were crazy. Lee and Doug didn’t bat an eye and the result was a number one show. Thanks also to the Podango engineering team who worked tirelessly to help us with IT issues great and small.

Thanks to our Sponsors. Audible.com and Zagg have been long-term supporters of our work and we really appreciate it. Without their help, it would be hard to do a show with high production values, featuring world-class talent and doing it all in a timely and effective manner.

Thanks to the folks at Apple’s iTunes Store who have frequently been kind enough to place the Apple Phone Show podcast in a place of prominence on the iTunes pages.

Thanks to the best voice in the business…Joe Cip! Joe Cipriano is the signature Voice of Fox comedies including, The Simpsons, Everybody Loves Raymond, King of the Hill, Mad TV, and Family Guy. He’s also the signature voice representing NBC programs including Deal or No Deal, ER, Medium, Heroes, Las Vegas, Crossing Jordan, and Biggest Loser. And most importantly, he’s the signature voice of the Apple Phone Show. Nothing like being introduced each week by the guy who does voiceovers on Law & Order! Thanks Joe.

Thanks to Achim who recently joined us to help with foreign iPhone coverage and Mike Sayah at TCQ.NET who is my personal IT guy when it comes to anything web-related. Thanks to Tim at BSW and to Marvin at Aphex for helping us outfit the Apple Phone Show recording studio at Podango Productions.

I also really need to thank my pals Leo Laporte from TWIT.TV and Alex Lindsay from Pixelcorps.tv. Pretty much any success I have in the new media business is at least partly due to the support of these two great and talented men. I appreciate their friendship and help.

Lastly, thanks to our audience. We really appreciate all of your support.

Now - let’s make 2008 even better!
