Piper Jaffray analyst Gene Munster says Apple will sell 45 million iPhones by next year. While that seems like a wildly optimistic number, I do think it changes the conversation.

Notice how the conversation has changed from “Will Apple hit the 10 million iPhone mark?” to “How many more than 10 million will Apple sell.”

All of this has no doubt been very hard on the Apple haters.

Effective next weekend - we will only post one time per weekend - and that will always be the enhanced version of the regular podcast that is posted every Friday.

Since weekends are the slowest time here on the blog - it made the most sense for us to pick that time to cut back a little. We’re working on some new things for the podcast and need the extra time.

Stay tuned. We’re about to enter our second year of iPhone-related podcasts and we have some new ideas in store for you.

And rumors are circulating from around the Web that many of the larger Apple stores are completely out of iPhone stock. Is it coincidence? Most certainly - but it sure makes for great speculation.

Microsoft told Fortune Magazine that the Redmond, WA-based company is interested in developing for the iPhone.

Tom Gibbons, head of Microsoft’s Specialized Devices and Applications Group, said the focus would be on extending Office functions onto the iPhone and iPod touch.

It will be interesting to see how other big companies who usually view Apple as an adversary - work with the iPhone. After all, even the businesses that are enemies still have to satisfy their shareholders.

Effective this week I’ll only offer one piece of wallpaper a week. Sorry, but my schedule is literally so packed I have to start saving some time somewhere. Also, last week’s art was an oldie but goodie, and since we have new people on the site all the time, I will occasionally post older images to give them new life.

This week, I offer a Moonrise over Mono Lake. I hope you like it. This is a free wallpaper pic you can use on your iPhone. P.S. If you’re interested in photography - check out TWIP.
